FIAC Paris Opens To Strong Sales And Buzzy Optimistic Atmosphere

Paris is transformed once again into the world capital of contemporary art with the FIAC  International Contemporary Art Fair. A veritable institution recognized worldwide, FIAC is an opportunity for the public to discover the latest developments in contemporary art, through works by some of the best known artists in the world. Early reports have stated that the fair opened to strong sales on the preview day with a buzzy and optimistic atmosphere in all areas of the fair.

In total, some 1,500 artists show their work for up to 70,000 spectators

In total, some 1,500 artists show their work for the 70,000 spectators to see in the aisles of the Grand Palais, the Petit Palais, the Tuileries Gardens, the Musée Eugène Delacroix and Place Vendôme.

FIAC is also a great occasion for artists residing in France, to be awarded the prestigious Marcel Duchamp Prize, which brings with it international recognition. Like all fairs, FIAC is a marketplace where works of art change hands and professionals meet. Each year, there is much speculation in the press about the price of various works of art, which contributes to establishing the art market prices for artists.
