Following the Prime Minister’s announcement that museums and galleries may reopen from Saturday 4 July providing they adhere to COVID Secure guidelines, the following museums and galleries have released details. Tate Galleries

Reopening the collection displays at all four galleries: Tate Britain, Tate Modern, Tate Liverpool and Tate St Ives. Tate Modern will reopen with Andy Warhol and Kara Walker’s Hyundai Commission. Tate Britain will reopen with Aubrey Beardsley and Steve McQueen’s Year 3 installation. Tate Liverpool will unveil new work by Mikhail Karikis, and Tate St Ives will reopen the Naum Gabo exhibition.

After more than 20 weeks closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Hayward Gallery will reopen five days a week with Covid-secure health and safety measures in place to keep visitors and staff safe
NHS workers and Southbank Centre Members can visit for free and tickets are just £5 for under 30s and Lambeth residents
All visitors are asked to pre-book their ticket at www.southbankcentre.co.uk;
Among the Trees will later be joined by a new free outdoor exhibition, Everyday Heroes , from September to November . The art and poetry exhibition across the Southbank Centre’s 11-acre site celebrates key workers and ordinary people who have risen to the occasion during the crisis

The V&A is opening the museum in phases. Initially, from 6 August reduced opening hours Thursday – Sunday, 11:00 – 15:00. Then from 27 August Thursday – Sunday, 11:00 – 19:00. Museum entry is still free but you’ll now need to pre-book a timed ticket online. Temporary exhibitions are currently closed. Kimono: Kyoto to Catwalk is reopening on 27 August and tickets are available to pre-book now. Booking for Bags: Inside Out, Epic Iran and Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser will open soon.

The museum reopens with new measures in place, a new online booking system and will feature drawings by American artist, Ida Applebroog, from her Mercy Hospital series. These drawings were executed during a period in 1969 when she was struggling with her mental health.

Visitors will need to book a free timed ticket in advance, as there will be reduced numbers in the Museum to ensure visitors can keep a safe distance apart.
Tickets will be available to book online on Wednesday 12 August.
The Museum will open 10.00–15.00 on the 27–28 August, moving to 10.00–17.00 from Saturday 29 August.
A new easy-to-follow one-way route signposted around the Ground floor galleries will allow visitors to experience extraordinary objects from ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome and Assyria, before exploring Africa, Mexico, North America and the Enlightenment gallery. More galleries will reopen later in September.
The postponed special exhibitions Tantra: enlightenment to revolution and the Citi exhibition Arctic: culture and climate will reopen later in the autumn
