A full rage of wick-ed events awaits you
A full rage of wick-ed events awaits you

This year Hackney WickED successfully applied for Arts Council England funding that will enable a range of commissioned work, engagement with the local businesses, and Open Studio bursaries to help artists develop their spaces for the weekend.

The weekend kicks-off on Friday from 6 pm with the official Private View of the Hackney WickED Group Show at Here East, co-curated by HW’ED Patron Gavin Turk, HW’ED Director Anna Maloney & friends. RSVP HERE

The intention is to showcase Hackney Wick’s diverse range of artists and talents and explore the inside workings of the artist studio, outside of its natural habitat of warehouses and yards. It may also be a representation of inner emotions, ideas, shadows and trauma expressed outwardly and publicly at a time of great change in and around Hackney Wick.

Although this is a vulnerable time for the community, Hackney WickED aims to create a union, a ‘bridge’ between the existing creative community and the new comers to the area within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, forging positive new relationships and opportunities for artists to be supported, acknowledged and continue to thrive in the changing landscape, and not become extinct.   Book Free Festival Tickets Here
