Entering the Summer Exhibition at The Royal Academy 2010

2010 exhibition information

14 June – 22 August

Sponsored by Insight Investment

Artists will be informed of the status of their entries by the end of May. If you have not received notification by 29 May, please telephone the Summer Exhibition office on 020 7300 5929, 020 7300 5935 or email summerexhibition@royalacademy.org.uk.

The annual show, which is now in its 240th year, is the world’s largest contemporary art exhibition of paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints and architectural models. Over £70,000 is given in prizes to cover work from all categories.

This year’s exhibition co-ordinators have agreed that the theme will be ‘Man Made’ and it is anticipated that this will be explored throughout the exhibition and across all categories of entry. Please note, though, that adherence to the theme is not a condition of entry and all submissions are welcome.

An artist is entitled to submit a maximum of two works for the consideration of the judges and this year, for the first time, all sculptural work will be selected from photographs in the first instance. Please note that the deadline for returning photographs of sculpture is Tuesday 18 March.
