ICA, London Has appointed  Matt Williams as the new curator of exhibitions

Williams, was previously employed at Limoncello, Hotel, and the Zabludowicz Collection, and has been curator of International Project Space, Birmingham since 2008. He is also co-editor of the annual publication Novel, which focuses on artists’ writing and poetry. The upcoming issue, published later this year, features contributions by artist such as Alex Hubbard, Charles Atlas, and David Malkjovic.

Williams has worked with a number of emerging and established artists including Josef Strau, Melanie Gilligan, Simon Denny, Lucy Clout and Hannah Sawtell.He stated: “I am excited to be coming to the ICA and working for an organisation with such a rich history. I look forward to contributing to its future.”

Executive Director, Ekow Eshun, said: “Matt Williams is an exceptionally talented curator who brings significant expertise and insight in new directions in contemporary art and curatorial practice to the ICA. He’s a very strong asset for the ICA and I’m delighted to have him join us.”

Matt Williams studied Fine Art at Leeds Metropolitan University before taking an MA in Curating Contemporary Art
at the Royal College of Art, London. Of his appointment Williams says: “I am excited to be coming to the ICA and
working for an organisation with such a rich history. I look forward to contributing to its future.”
