New Voices In Art Exhibition Launches At BL-NK Hackney

Hackney Council Speaker is bringing together acclaimed artists from across the borough of Hackney and beyond including internationally recognised artists for an exclusive exhibition at urban space pop-up BL-NK in Shoreditch. Speaker’s Corner: New Voices in Hackney Art will be launched at a free private viewing at BL-NK on Thursday 29 May and will be open to the public for one week.

Pete Bennett, Hackney artist and musician, will be curating the exhibition involving over 20 artists offering an interesting and diverse range of art. Peacehub, a pro-reconciliation initiative based in Haifa in Israel, which is twinned with Hackney, will display a unique selection of images by artists from around the world in support of their Picture Peace open art submission.

Gypsy and east European influenced Klezmer Duo, Balabustah will perform on the night led by the with the virtuoso violin and accordion of Dov Levitski and Chris Taylor. Britain’s Got Talent runner up Loveable Rogues will perform hits including their debut single ‘What a Night’. There will be a raffle for a pair of signed football boots owned by former Tottenham Hotspur striker Peter Crouch.

Participating artists include, Harry Adams, Noel Bensted, Billy Childish, Alex Daw, Errol Reuben Fernades, Alex Fox, Ben Gooch, Tanya Harris, Andrew Hladky, Alyson Helyer, Lady Lucy, Rudolph Lindo, Michelle O’ Mahoney, Olena Melnikova, Sadie Murdoch, Dorian Nedzewicz , Picture Peace, David Brian Smith, Ruth Solomons, Sweet Toof, Annie Zamero

Private view event, Thursday 29 May 2014 @ 6pm – 9.30pm (music and bar open until late) at BL-NK, 37 East Road, London N1 6AZ. Free entry with a drink on arrival.
