Art Car Boot Fair 2019 Returns For A Summer Of Love

Geraldine Swayne Art Car Boot Fair 2019

The Art Car Boot Fair is perhaps the one place to go for starter level collectors. This mid-summer art love-in awards the opportunity to buy art from the well known to the unknown. It takes over Lewis Cubitt Square in King’s Cross this Sunday, 23rd June. Brought to you in association with Vero – True Social, it is a unique chance to meet and barter with over 120 renowned artists who are invited to create artworks specially for the day and to come along to sell them, in person, at astonishing prices. The theme of the summer fair is love: love for the planet, love for each other and love of art.

Famed for its festival atmosphere, the June edition features an incredible mix of artists across all disciplines and age ranges. From eleven-year-old wunderkind Camille Phoenix, the line-up spans seven decades right up to Colin Self who is in his 80’s. Fashion designer Pam Hogg makes a welcome return to the fair with limited edition S.W.A.L.K T-shirts and Warrior Queen berets. Street artist Ben Eine will join the line-up for the first time with a special edition of his sought after LOVE prints that he will be stenciling live at the event.

Artists will be exploring and celebrating the LOVE theme by creating unique artworks available for one day only. Artist Nigel Waymouth will be selling a unique 1960s Save The Earth poster, designed in 1967 (the original Summer of Love) with Michael English, that he will be signing on the day of the fair. New Love themed editions of Wilma Johnson’s coveted rubber gloves will be available. The International Neo Not Banksy Anartist Alliance (I.N.N.B.A.A) has instructed the L-13 Light Industrial Workshop to assist the Real Not Banksy Front (R.N.B.F) in the production of a screen print on the theme of LOVE, available at £60. Charming Baker will produce a Charming Baker’s Dozen of 13 original drawings on the CHOOSE LOVE template for Help Refugees. At the Jealous London stand Charming Baker will be live drawing Lovebirds and the Miaz Brothers will be airbrush-finishing prints in their distinctive style.

There’ll be entertainment from Juliet Russell’s Portobello Live! choir who will be singing love songs and the CAMPerVAN crew will be camping up a storm out of their bespoke caravan/stage. The fair also sees the return of fantastically popular and free Copyshop – bought to you by Ian Dawson in association with Vero. Ian will be securing rights to images from many of the Art Car Boot Fair artists, and visitors to the fair can make their own ‘mongrel’ prints on the day using their bespoke selection of screens and paints.
