Gabriel Moses: 180 Studios Showcases His Art Fashion And Cultural Heritage

Gabriel Moses

This spring, 180 Studios will unveil Selah, the largest exhibition to date by the acclaimed photographer and filmmaker Gabriel Moses.

Opening on 28 March 2025, the show explores Moses’ distinctive visual language, bringing together over 70 photographs and 10 films that span his celebrated career. Among the highlights is the premiere of his new short film, The Last Hour, a poignant narrative shot in Atlanta, Georgia, that delves into themes of solitude and redemption.

Born in South London, Moses’ work is infused with his British-Nigerian heritage. His evocative imagery, characterised by a rich, vibrant colour palette and a deliberate absence of contextual detail, speaks to personal history, cultural identity, and memory. Often paying homage to the women who have shaped his life—his grandmother, mother, and sister—Moses’ art is as much a tribute to familial love as it reflects the intersections of art, fashion, and culture.

Since bursting onto the scene, Moses has carved out a notable space in art, fashion, music, and sport. His collaborations with contemporary culture include Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Dior, Nike, Vogue, and i-D, and he sits alongside portraits of icons such as Pharrell Williams, Zinedine Zidane, Skepta, and Travis Scott. His music videos, including Fein for Travis Scott and Playboi Carti and Lost Times for ScHoolboy Q, have further cemented his reputation as a visionary storyteller.

Selah showcases a breadth of Moses’ work, from his striking portraits of figures like Alek Wek, Jude Bellingham, and Slawn to his newly commissioned series of photographs. The exhibition also marks the debut of The Last Hour, a film commissioned by 180 Studios and executive produced by Division and Goat. Shot in Atlanta, the film follows one man’s journey toward redemption, offering an intensely personal narrative that resonates with Moses’ broader themes of introspection and resilience.

The exhibition follows a remarkable period for Moses. In 2024, he released his first monograph, Regina, published by Prestel, and was named the 2025 BRIT Awards trophy designer.

His work has been exhibited globally, from his debut solo show at 180 Studios in 2023 to recent presentations in Chicago, Milan, Paris, Seoul, New York, and Arles.

Curated by Katja Horvat in collaboration with 180 Studios, Selah is a testament to Moses’ evolving artistry. Emilia Margulies led the exhibition’s spatial design, and Jayda Deans crafted its graphic identity. Together, they promise to create an immersive experience that mirrors the emotional depth of Moses’ work.
