Changing Spaces: 60 Years of Design with Habitat

Habitat,Design Museum

One of Britain’s best-loved home and furniture brands, Habitat, celebrates its 60th anniversary with a free, interactive installation exploring how our homes have changed with us over the years.

As our relationship with our homes evolves over time, design plays an important role in defining how we shape and experience the places we live in.

And for the past six decades, Habitat has been at the heart of British homes, creating furniture and home decor pieces that seamlessly fit into our lives.

In the installation in the atrium and outside plaza, discover five interactive displays that chart how design influences and reflects the world around us and impacts our daily lives.

From colourful and textured statement pieces to considered lighting and spaces designed for slow living, visitors will see iconic objects from the brand’s new 60 years of design collection inspired by its heritage, that marries thoughtful design with individual character.

Habitat’s mission has always been to make design accessible to everyone, believing good design is the key to joyful living with the power to improve the quality of our lives. And for the past 60 years they have delivered on that promise, creating some of the most iconic staples of British interiors for fans old and new.
