The Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize shortlist has been announced by the National Portrait Gallery in London.

A total of 51 portraits from 36 artists have been selected for display in the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2022 exhibition.

Looking around the NPG’s new Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize exhibition, I was immediately reminded of the fact that we are right in the middle of a culture war.

Claudio Rasano has won the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2016. His portrait of a Johannesburg schoolboy, on exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, has taken the prestigious £15,000 award.
