Frieze is here again, and we’ve been crossing the days off since summer! Not only is this the buzziest week of the London autumn art calendar but it’s a great time to discover new artists, watch performances by young talent and films by some of the most exciting experimental filmmakers in the world. Here is a selection curated first hand by the Artlyst team who braved being trampled by art consultants and collectors to choose ten of the best.

Frieze Week has been singled out as one of the most pivotal events in the international art calendar. Competing with Art Basel and Miami Beach Art Basel is no easy feat, but by stamping their own particular take on the art fair Frieze has become the first stop for innovation and most of all a showcase for great contemporary art. Beyond Frieze, London presents a number of collateral events which should not be missed many are covered in the guide below.
Frieze London brings together more than 160 of the world’s leading contemporary galleries, showcasing ambitious presentations by emerging and established artists, enhanced by an exceptional programme of artist commissions, films and talks. Highlights this year include curated gallery sections dedicated to the discovery and radical feminist practice, Frieze Projects’ non-profit programme featuring commissions from 11 international artists.
