A new pop-up fair is to take place in the Saatchi Gallery at the end of June, coinciding with the established London season of auctions and art fairs.
Focusing on modern and contemporary British and international art, it will open on June 26, the same day as Sotheby’s major contemporary art sale and the preview day of Masterpiece, the leading art and antiques fair, also in Chelsea.
The new fair, entitled ‘Fair for Saatchi’ comprising some 25 dealers, is the brainchild of dealer Robert Sandelson, working together with fair organiser Gay Hutson, from whom he acquired the 20/21 British Art Fair, re-launching it with great success as the British Art Fair at the Saatchi Gallery last year.
“The initial response to our ‘pop up’ has been huge, with most of the space being allocated this week”, says Robert, “clearly demonstrating that London needs a dedicated art fair in June.”
