9. Nan Goldin
Photographer Nan Goldin burst onto the art scene in 1986 with The Ballad of Sexual Dependency, hugely influential images that chronicled the druggy New York demi-monde the artist and her friends inhabited. Commissioned by Italian luxury label Bottega Veneta, the artist photographed models Sean O’Pry and Anya Kazakova for the brand’s spring/summer 2010 campaign, evoking memories of her Ballad of Sexual Dependency. In 2013, Goldin photographed an advertising campaign for Dior titled 1000 LIVES, featuring Robert Pattinson.
