2. Rembrandt Van Rijn’s – ‘Storm of the Sea of Galilee’
This masterpiece vanished in 1990 along with 13 major artworks stolen from Boston’s Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in America’s biggest art heist. A reward has been offered of £3.2 million. ‘The Storm of the Sea of Galilee’ is Rembrandt’s only seascape and considered priceless.
1. Johannes Vermeer – ‘The Concert’
This painting was stolen in 1990. It was part of the notorious Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum theft in Boston (USA) which has remained unsolved for nearly 25 years. Valued at over £130 million and probably priceless, it is thought to be the most expensive unrecovered stolen painting in history. A Reward of £3.2 million has been offered for the safe return of the painting.
