9. Andy Warhol – ‘Athletes’

A collection of paintings by the American Pop artist Andy Warhol worth millions of dollars was stolen from the home of a businessman, in Los Angeles, in 2009. The works included ten well-known portraits of famous athletes such as Muhammad Ali and O.J. Simpson. The collection was stolen on 3 September from the collector’s home, a friend of the late artist. A million dollar reward has been offered for the return of the stolen canvases.
