4. Vincent Van Gogh – ‘Congregation Leaving the Reformed Church in Nuene’
This work has been missing since 2002. A reward for the safe return of the painting of £870,000 has been offered. The masterpiece was taken from the Vincent van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam by thieves who smashed their way into the building through the roof. Two paintings by Van Gogh were stolen that night, thought to be worth £35 million in worth £35 million in today’s market. The paintings remain unrecovered despite the Dutch police successfully convicting two men charged with stealing the paintings.
