The date for this years Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair is fast approaching! After a dozen wildly successful years they’re finally going to the dogs and have decided to give a light canine theme to this years fair! It will be the biggest line-up to date with over 100 artists, a whole slew of exciting new talents plus Richard Strange’s Daylight Cabaret Futura, some wild performance pieces, gourmet hotdogs and their first ever live auction!
The Art Car Boot Fair is the brain child of Karen Ashton ( Artlyst Power 100) and has been developed by Karen and her sister Helen Hayward since the first event in 2004 in London. It was an idea that grew out of a desire to pick up where Joshua Compston’s ‘Fete Worse than Death’ and Gavin Turk’s ‘Livestock Market’ and Articultural Shows’ blazed a trail in the 90’s and to re-introduce some summer fun and frivolity into a thriving but increasingly commercial London art scene. The Art Car Boot Fair aims to be a day when the artists let their hair down and for all-comers to engage with art in a totally informal way, and to pick up some real art bargains to boot! Participation in the Art Car Boot Fair is by invitation and referral by original ‘booters’ only.

Following on from their super-successful collaboration last season with Brit artist Gavin Turk, dynamic design-duo Emily Bradbury and Dawn Hindle founders of London / Ibiza based jewellery label TRUE ROCKS (available at Liberty in London) proudly announce a new artist collaboration for Autumn/Winter 2015.
Goldsmith’s graduate and award-winning artist Rachel Howard (whose work has graced the walls of the Royal Academy and White Cube) has collaborated with TRUE ROCKS and created the ultimate iconic yet so often overlooked style accessory; a limited edition hanger pendant.
Howard says ‘The humble hanger is a celebration of the overlooked and commonplace, its function is taken for granted whereas here the humble hanger is honouring the workaday, elevated to something more grand. The simplicity of the wire hanger is beautiful; a few bends and a couple of twists. The humble hanger is also an object that eludes to the human body, eliciting perhaps loss, absence and love’.
The Rachel Howard and True Rocks collaboration will be launching this exciting new collaboration at the 12th annual Art Car Boot Fair on June 14th 2015. Howard’s Humble Hanger comes in two sizes in 18 carat Rose and yellow gold plate or sterling silver on two different lengths of chain; Medium 3.5 x 2cms with an adjustable 18-20” trace chain Large 5x3cms with an adjustable 20-22” trace chain.
