Art Wars Exhibition Launches With Retrospective And Star Wars Screening

Art Wars

Art Wars holds its first retrospective exhibition, as the hotly-anticipated latest addition to the Star Wars franchise opens in cinemas across UK. The London based art curators Ben Moore and Sara Wade unveil their special blend of popular culture and subversion which includes several A-list artists, in the heart of Mayfair.

Opening on 17th December, at 18 Hertford Street, Mayfair, ‘Art Wars Mayfair’ will give visitors insight into nearly ten years of art in an ongoing collaboration with some of the best minds in the art world as they fuse Star Wars culture with their own artistic twist and trade mark style.

Since 2013 ‘Art Wars’ has exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery featuring artists including Damien Hirst and David Bailey, The Moniker Art Fair, The Other Art Fair, and has travelled to Dubai and Sweden and has forthcoming shows planned in the USA in 2016.

Damien Hirst says of the project: I saw a cartoon recently where a stormtrooper is sat in a chair with his head in his hands looking depressed with a thought bubble coming out if his head saying ‘those were the droids we were looking for. So many people today can find that funny and it really shows you how massively all encompassing and ubiquitous Star Wars is..’

At the Hertfrod Street venue there will be work on show by artists including Mr.Brainwash, James Mylne, Hayden Kays, Jake and Dinos Chapman, Alison Jackson and Joe Rush.
