Katharine Stout Announced As ICA New Head of Programmes

The ICA has announced the appointment of Katharine Stout as Head of Programmes. Katharine is currently a curator of contemporary art at Tate and Associate Director of the Drawing Room and takes up this new role at the ICA on 6 June 2013. As Head of Programmes she will work closely with Executive Director Gregor Muir to develop and deliver the ICA’s programme.
 
Katharine joins the ICA at a time of renewed energy and focus. The current Juergen Teller exhibition has been visited by over 75,000 people and across the ICA currently welcomes 8,000 visitors a week across a programme of films, exhibitions, talks and events. Exhibitions planned for 2013 include Bernadette Corporation (27 March – 9 June), Keep Your Timber Limber / Works on Paper – an exhibition of transgressive drawings curated by Sarah McCrory (19 June – 8 September), and the first exhibition in the UK of the acclaimed LA artist Lutz Bacher (25 September – 17 November). Upcoming ICA Cinema events include a special preview screening for Harmonie Korine’s latest feature Spring Breakers (22 March); a retrospective season of Agn& egrave;s Varda films (27 April – 2 May) and a run of American independent animator Don Hertzfeldt’s acclaimed but unreleased last film It’s a Beautiful Day (5 – 9May).
 
Commenting on the appointment Gregor Muir said, “We are all delighted that Katharine is joining the ICA.
