Stolen Stanley Spencer Painting Worth £1m Recovered From Drugs Den

A painting by Sir Stanley Spencer titled Cookham from Englefield, that was stolen five years ago from the Stanley Spencer Gallery in Berkshire has been uncovered in a raid on a drug dealer’s home in Kingston- Upon-Thames. The work of art valued at over £1m has now been returned to the gallery, police have revealed.

Piotr Pavlensky Arrested For Arson Attack On Paris Banque de France

Update Thursday 19 October: Pyotr Pavlensky  and his partner Oksana Shalygina have been detained, and placed in pre-trial detention in Paris following Monday’s Performance Art arson attack on a branch of the Bank of France. Pavlensky had been initially admitted to a police psychiatric unit, but a judge decided on Wednesday the pair should be placed in a pre-trial holding facility..

The United States has quit UNESCO over what they call an ‘anti-Israel bias.’ The US is pulling out of the UN’s cultural organisation accusing the agency, known for designating world heritage sites such as Syria’s Palmyra and Stonehenge of a continued bias at the organisation.”
