6. Salvador Dali: Licence to Print Money
Dali’s lawyer stated that there were literally thousands of counterfeit Dali prints circulating throughout the world. These prints that can retail for as much as $5,000 each, are simply cheap mechanical reprints that cost as little as $5 to produce. This market has made as much as $1 billion for counterfeiters. Most of these were likely to have been created after 1980, when Dali no longer signed anything after falling ill in New York.
