A new exhibition of paintings and works on paper by Gillian Ayres RA CBE, one of Britain’s most respected and best-loved post war artists. New paintings will be shown alongside a series of recently completed works on paper, unseen early drawings and a monumental painting made by Ayres in the early 1970s.
This exhibition coincides with the largest exhibition of Ayres’ work ever seen in the UK, opening at National Museum Cardiff from 8 April – 3 September 2017, and the first major publication on the artist’s life and work in more than 15 years, written by Martin Gayford and published by Art / Books.
