The Desperate Artwives project is currently hosting their very first Online Art Auction selling work made by women artists who are also mothers.

The Auction started on Wednesday the 29^th and will end Sunday 10^th of December at 11am.

The Desperate Artwives collective insists upon fighting hard against standardised views that profess women cannot be both artists and mothers. Since its’ inception in 2011, Desperate Artwives has sought to support artists in their practise through their constantly evolving and sometimes more challenging journey after becoming parents. This online auction has been set up to promote and support the work of contemporary women artists who are also mothers.

The Desperate Artwives project is a completely self-funded organisation that aims to raise awareness of the work of this group of artists who is too often overlooked and underrepresented in the art world.
