Following the collision between the MSC Opera, a 275m (900ft) long ocean liner, and a small tourist boat, during the opening weeks of the Venice Biennale, ships weighing more than 1,000 tonnes will be banned and rerouted away from the waterways in Venice’s historic quarter, from September.

The Flemish tourist board has created a video protesting Facebooks continued censorship of old master paintings on their social media site. The government sponsored agency uses humor to send-up Facebook in a short video which has gone viral.

Facebook is at it again! The taste and moral police have blocked an Australian auction house from advertising a well-known figurative painter’s work because it deems it indecent. Charles Blackman’s oil work entitled Women Lovers features two nude women resting on a bed beside a cat. The painting has been pulled down by the social media giant in a gesture which undermines culture in a return to Victorian attitudes of morality and repression.
