A major exhibition of new work by Julian Opie (b.1958), which distils and decodes the visual experience of our everyday life.

Pitzhanger will present a new body of work by renowned British artist Julian Opie, including site-specific pieces, focusing on architecture, people and nature.
Wednesday: 10:00 - 17:00 Thursday: 10:00 - 19:00 Friday - Sunday: 10:00 - 17:00
In a new body of work at Lisson Gallery’s Mayfair space, Julian Opie combines two subjects that have been central to his artistic career: people and architecture.

This Summer Cornwall’s Eden Project has unveiled new permanent sculptural works by Julian Opie and Ryan Gander installed in the grounds. This tops up the collection which already includes works by Tim Shaw, El Anatsui, Studio Swine and Peter Randall-Page.

An exhibition of new works by Julian Opie. The show brings together all the editions the artist has made since 2016 and will include several new series being exhibited for the first time. These include freestanding bronze statuettes, digital animations, stone portraits and wall banners.

Julian Opie makes his debut at the National Portrait Gallery with a selection of new works. It will accompany the Gallery’s self-portrait by Sir Anthony van Dyck (1599-1641)

This display shows Sir Anthony van Dyck’s Self-portrait of c.1640 in the context of new work by Julian Opie, one of Britain’s foremost contemporary artists. Works influenced by Van Dyck and artists of the period are displayed in dialogue with Van Dyck’s self-portrait in the midst of the seventeenth-century galleries.
Open daily 10:00-18:00 Thursday-Friday until 21:00
Julian Opie has unveiled a new work to display alongside the National Portrait Gallery’s self-portrait of Sir Anthony van Dyck (1599-1641), acquired in 2014 after a major public fundraising appeal, as it returns to the Gallery following a three-year nationwide tour.
