Premiums Interim Projects will provide an opportunity to see new work by 15 second-year students at the interim point of their postgraduate study at the Royal Academy Schools, the UK’s longest established art school.
For the first time, the exhibition will take place in the new Weston Studio and The McAulay Gallery, which unify the space between Burlington House and Burlington Gardens. There will be a wide range of work using various media, including painting, sculpture, audio-visual and mixed-media pieces.
Rebecca Salter RA, Keeper of the Royal Academy of Arts, said: “In 2019 we are celebrating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the Royal Academy Schools and will be marking this historic event throughout the year. Premiums Interim Projects, the annual exhibition of the work of our second-year students is a chance to encounter some of the most exciting and innovative work being produced by postgraduate students in the UK. For the first time Premiums will be taking place in the new exhibition spaces; the Weston Studio and The McAulay Gallery at the heart of both the RA Schools and the new Royal Academy campus.”
