Abu Dhabi Identified As Buyer Of $450m Da Vinci Salvator Mundi

We now know that the Louvre Abu Dhabi is going to exhibit Leonardo Da Vinci’s “Salvator Mundi,” which sold last month in a Christie’s Contemporary sale in New York for a cool $450 million. However the identity of the buyer has remained a secret with speculation now focusing on the Abu Dhabi  Royals as the purchaser.

UK Artists Getting Poorer As 82% Earn Less Than £10,000 PA

A new report out today shows that UK emerging and mid-career artists are getting poorer: 82% now earn less than £10,000 a year. Artfinder who produced the study, shows an increase in the percentage of artists earning less than £10,000 a year, up from 72% in 2013 to 82%. It’s also worse for women – with 83.6% earning under £10,000 (from 98% of respondents who stated gender).

Naum Gabo (1890-1977)

Naum Gabo Sculpture Donated To Scottish National Gallery Of Modern Art

An important 20th-century sculpture made from glass, perspex and stainless steel by the Russian artist Naum Gabo (1890-1977) has been acquired by the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art in Edinburgh, thanks to the generosity of the artist’s family. The work has been gifted through the Arts Council’s Cultural Gifts Scheme by Graham Williams on behalf of himself and his wife, the artist’s daughter Nina Williams.
