I’ve been looking again at Georgina Adam’s recently published book, The Dark Side of the Boom (Lund Humphries). It ranges over a wide variety of contemporary art world topics and is quite largely concerned with recent art world misdeeds – that is, with the commercial rather than the official sector of art world activity, insofar as these can be fully separated from one another.

Maria Balshaw has been confirmed as the new Director of Tate. She is currently Director of the Whitworth (University of Manchester) and Manchester City Galleries, and Director of Culture for Manchester City Council

The Rem Koolhaas design will transform a former warehouse into a global quality multi-purpose venue. Housing two performance spaces – a theatre and a warehouse area for art, performance, and video.
