8. Spaced Performance Piece By Vulva
OK! this is not strictly a real performance – you caught us out – but Artlyst couldn’t resist including this one: having chosen a scene from the TV series ‘Spaced’ in which the character Brian the artist has an invitation to a new art show by the character Vulva (actor David Walliams), who is his former partner and non-gender-specific-ex-chaste-heterosexual-lover, in which Walliams performs a Lee Bowery-esque performance, which ‘finally’ culminates in the audience reaching its conclusion with applause, only to be told “it’s not finished!” in shrill theatrical tones by Walliams’ painted performer, and then after a short pause to declare “It’s finished!” – we love it.
