Free Banksy Original Print For Every Vote Against The Conservatives

The elusive street artist Banksy is offering a free print to anyone who votes against the Conservatives. The artwork, which is also on Banksy’s Instagram page, depicts his iconic “girl with a balloon” motif, this time with a Union Jack in the balloon. The instructions states; take a photo on your phone of the ballot and send it in and a free print will be posted to you. This could contravene laws designed to ensure votes remain secret and could break rules against bribery.

Thomas Heatherwick Chosen To Design New £1bn Google London Headquarters

The internet giant Google has submitted plans for a ‘landscraper’ for its London headquarters.Construction on the project is on course to begin in 2018 The King’s Cross building which is as long as the Shard is wide is designed by Bjarke Ingels Group and Heatherwick Studios, the team behind TfL’s New Bus for London and the 2012 Olympic Cauldron.

A – lister actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Dustin Hoffman, Nicole Kidman and Will Smith turned out for the amfAR AIDS benefit that is the social highlight of the Cannes film festival. The event held annually at the Eden Roc Hotel, Cap d’Antibes on the French Riviera saw celebrities and benefactors paying up to $500,000 for a table. But where was the Contemporary art on the auction block?

Cancelled Marlie Mul Exhibition In Glasgow Is A Conceptual First

For her latest show entitled ‘ cancelled’ the Dutch artist, Marlie Mul has requested no exhibition to be held at the Gallery of Modern Art in Glasgow. An empty gallery has been unveiled by the artist who pulled out of her exhibition at one of Glasgow’s leading venues. The only thing on show in the gallery are billboards advertising that the exhibition has been cancelled.

The British/Ghanaian architect David Adjaye has formally received his Knighthood for his services to architecture as part of the Queen’s biannual honours programme. Prince William, Duke of Cambridge performed the honours at an official Investiture ceremony held at Buckingham Palace.

V&A Announces DesignLab Nation National Programme To Support Design Education

The Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) have announced DesignLab Nation, a national programme to support design education for 11 to 16-year-olds, working with regional museums. It will use the Art Fund Museum of the Year 2016 prize money to fund an ambitious national schools programme, DesignLab Nation, to help revive art and design education in secondary schools.
