Art Basel 48th edition Announces Stellar Gallery Line-Up

Art Basel, which is now in its 48th edition has released an impressive gallery list for the fair in Basel, Switzerland, which takes place from June 15 to June 18, 2017. This year, 291 leading international galleries will present works ranging from the early 20th century to contemporary artists. The Basel show, whose Lead Partner is UBS, will present galleries from 34 countries and six continents.

Christopher Le Brun RA To Mount Two US Exhibitions In 2017

Christopher Le Brun, painter and president of the Royal Academy (RA) is set to exhibit a two-part show of new work, in the US next year. Christopher Le Brun: Composer, will be mounted at the Albertz Benda gallery in New York (2 March-15 April 2017) and at the Gallery at Windsor in Vero Beach, Florida (25 February-27 April 2017).

£12m Leonardo da Vinci Drawing Walks Into Auction House For Valuation

Thaddée Prate, director of old master pictures at the Tajan auction house in Paris has uncovered a long lost drawing by the Renaissance master Leonardo da Vinci. The discovery was made last summer and it has taken months of painstaking research and the authentication by three experts including one of the curators at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. Tajan values the work at 15 million euros, or about $15.8 million.
