Gurlitt Nazi Looted Art Collection Goes On Display

A simultaneous double exhibition focusing on artworks from the Cornelius Gurlitt hoard of art confiscated by the Nazis and hidden for more than three-quarters of a century by a disgraced family of Nazi collaborators will finally go on show from the 2 November in Germany and Switzerland.

Stolen Stanley Spencer Painting Worth £1m Recovered From Drugs Den

A painting by Sir Stanley Spencer titled Cookham from Englefield, that was stolen five years ago from the Stanley Spencer Gallery in Berkshire has been uncovered in a raid on a drug dealer’s home in Kingston- Upon-Thames. The work of art valued at over £1m has now been returned to the gallery, police have revealed.

Piotr Pavlensky Arrested For Arson Attack On Paris Banque de France

Update Thursday 19 October: Pyotr Pavlensky  and his partner Oksana Shalygina have been detained, and placed in pre-trial detention in Paris following Monday’s Performance Art arson attack on a branch of the Bank of France. Pavlensky had been initially admitted to a police psychiatric unit, but a judge decided on Wednesday the pair should be placed in a pre-trial holding facility..
