Lucio Fontana Environment Installations To Be Reconstructed In Milan

Visitors to a major exhibition which will be staged at Pirelli Hangar Bicocca in Milan this autumn will be able to walk through several of Lucio Fontana’s celebrated ‘environments’ featuring different forms and colours which unfold through rooms, corridors, glass walls and labyrinthine paths. The show, opening on 20 September 2017, has been developed in collaboration with Fondazione Lucio Fontana.

Salvador Dali’s Body To Be Exhumed Following Paternity Suit Judge Orders

A Spanish judge in Madrid has ordered the exhumation of Salvador Dali’s body in order to get samples for a paternity suit brought by a woman claiming to be his daughter. “The DNA study of the painter’s corpse is necessary due to the lack of other biological or personal remains with which to perform the comparative study.” The court said although the decision could be appealed.

Sotheby’s has announced that it will be handling the estate collection of the great American playwright Edward Albee. The dedicated auction will be held this September in New York with proceeds of the sale benefiting The Edward F. Albee Foundation, which provides residencies for writers and visual artists in Montauk, Long Island.

Wassily Kandinsky Painting Achieves £33m A New Auction Record At Sotheby’s

A new auction record for Wassily Kandinsky was broken twice last night at Sotheby’s London. Murnau – Landschaft mit grünem Haus from 1909, sold for £21 million / $26.4 million / €23.9 million. Both early works by Kandinsky were among the few left in private hands, this painting made its auction debut having remained in the private collection of the same family since the 1920s.
