Damien Hirst’s colossal new exhibition, spread over two major spaces controlled by billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault in Venice, is clearly meant to upstage the upcoming Venice Biennale, which opens on 13th May. It is also, perhaps, meant to revive what some see as a flagging reputation. Meanwhile, the drums of publicity are beating. The verdict, so far, is by no means unanimous.

The Newport Street Gallery has announced their next solo exhibition which follows Gavin Turk’s successful exhibition at Damien Hirst’s private Art Gallery. Ashley Bickerton an American artist (b.1959), will display work spanning more than three decades of his career and features almost 50 works, including both new and previously unexhibited pieces.
